Color Tag!

I was tagged by Caramel Diva for the color tag. I had to find 8 green things and post them. To tell the truth, this wasn't that easy for me.

I don't own a lot of green...here's what I found:

1. Eyeshadows from Coastal Scent 88 original palette. I haven't worn them because they're super bright, but I got an idea from The Recessionista to make them more wearable. She did a great post on the Coastal Scents 56 Blush & Eye palette and showed how to blend different shades together to get great Mac and Urban Decay dupes.

2. Kiddie cup.
3. Kiddie meal tray.

4. Avon perfume.
5. Address book.
6. Kelly green shirt.

7. Art supplies.

8. China Glaze Emerald Sparkle nail polish. I found a green polish that I love, love, love!! It's got all the sparkly, shimmery, glittery goodness of Ruby Pumps---it's just green!
I'm going to be super lazy and not tag anyone specifically....and just invite anyone who wants to do it. The color that I've choosen is PINK!!!!

Dear Santa

It's that time of year again! My kids are all excited about the holidays and so am I. They aren't the only ones making Santa a list. I've got one too! Small and modest compared to other years, but I'll still be happy to get everything on my list.

  • Coastal Scents 88 warm palette. I've got a couple CS palettes, two I use alot(88 original and 88 shimmer) and two others that just collect dust because their textures are hard to blend...Well, when I heard about the new 88 warm palette I immediately wanted it! 88 warm toned shades!! Mattes and shimmers!! Grays, browns, pinks, peaches, creams, khakis, and blacks in one palette!! Need it? Of course not. I already own many neutral shades. Want it? Yes, yes, yes!!!
  • Stila kajal eyeliner in Topaz. I've wanted a naturalish-looking brightener for my waterline for awhile. I usually use Urban Decay's YeYo, but find that this white pencil sometimes looks too harsh and unnatural. I saw Stila's Topaz eyeliner and thought it would be perfect since it's a apricoty-nude shade.
  • Mac Sexy Shanigans lipgloss set---First of all I love the name and second it's pink, pink, pink, pink! Great little sets!

What's on your Dear Santa beauty list?

The Midas Touch

My favorite polish combo right now! China Glaze's Twenty-Four K and Cleopatra from the Glitters and Chrome collection! Love, love, love!!

What's on your nails?

e.l.f. The Beauty Encyclopedia review & more

Well, I've been using e.l.f.'s Beauty Encyclopedia eyeshadow set for a couple days and here are my thoughts on it. In the pic I'm wearing three of the eyeshadows from it (bottom row, 1st light gold shade, 2nd peach shade, and 4th copper shade).

I think this set is a nice-to-have if you don't already have these shades in your collection. If you do, then I'd just skip it. The shadows swatched pretty smooth and velvety on my hand, but, weren't that pigmented on my eyes. I packed on the eyeshadows and as you can see from the picture, they still applied pretty light. I can say though, that the eyeshadows are longlasting. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Mac's Stillife paint and they lasted all day long--even through a light drizzle.
The cream eyeshadows didn't work for me at all--even with primer. I wasn't surprized though because cream eyeshadows rarely work for me. I didn't even bother with the eye pencil because I've never had much luck with inexpensive eye pencils. They always smear and fade and I'm left looking like a raccoon. I do much better with inexpensive liquid eye liners.
...Anywho, I think this eyeshadow set is a good value for the price (can't beat $5.00!) if you don't mind lightly pigmented eyeshadows. I'll be using mine when I don't have time (always!) and just need to throw on some quick color.

I can tell you though that I've been having a little love affair with Maybelline lately. I finally picked up a Lash Stiletto mascara and I've got to say I love it! I got the waterproof version and it lasts all day with no flaking and lengthens my eyelashes. A definite repurchase for me!
I've also been enjoying Maybelline's new ColorSensational lipsticks. I just picked up Blushing Brunette, a nice everyday-throw-on color, and have my eye on a couple more. Just waiting for a BOGO sale...
Anyone pick up e.l.f.'s new line at Target? Tried Lash Stiletto? Have a favorite ColorSensational lippie shade?

My Little Angels

I spent last night at a Halloween party. I didn't plan on dressing up, I was just going to wear dramatic makeup--but, time ran up on me and my daughters MiniMishMash and BabyMishMash ended up being the only ones who got their faces done.

They requested pink, pink, pink, and more pink! (BabyMishMash couldn't even concentrate on taking the picture because she was too busy checking out all the candy and goodies!)

All in all, it was a fun night. I never want to see another piece of candy corn, though for as long as I live--I'm all candied out. One Halloween party down, another one to go!

My fave mark. products

I thought I'd share with you my fave products from the mark. brand. For anyone who doesn't know, mark. is part of the company Avon.

It's basically Avon's little sister and is geared for women aged 16-24. I used to sell Avon and as you can see, I have a heck of a lot of mark. products. I stopped selling Avon because let's just say, I was spending more than I was making. I was like a kid at Christmas every time a shipment came in and I had tons of fun testing different products.

Here are a couple of my faves:

Flip For It's. This was the first product I ever tried from mark. I received one for a gift and had to have more as you can see from the stack. I liked them soo much because each one contains 2 eyeshadows, a blush, 2 lipstick colors and 2 lipglosses in a cute little mirrored compact. If your someone who struggles with finding colors that look good together, then you might like these because all the colors in the compact compliment each other. They retail for $20.00. I'd love to pick up the newest one called Urban Neutrals, but I need it like I need a hole in the head.

i-mark custom pick eyeshadows and good glowing custom pick powder blushes. It's hard to find long lasting inexpensive eyeshadows and blushes, but mark.'s got them. The eyeshadow's are only $4.50 and the blushes are $7.00. They come in little plastic clamshells and you just buy (separately) cases to put them in. My favorite blush shade is AfterGlo, a golden peachy shade and I love the South Beach and Tiki eyeshadows.
mark. hook ups. Out of all of mark.'s different hook ups, I love their metalliner liquid eyeliners. I have Bronze Edge, Quick Silver, and Blue Chrome. They don't fade and last all day. I also like their Glow Baby Glow lipglosses in Pink Crush and Sun Luxe. I recommend the lipglosses if you like sheer glosses because their not that pigmented. They retail for $5.50 each and you get a free connector when you purchase any two hook ups.

self sanctuary Lemon Sugar collection and glow xpert face shimmers. All I can say about the Lemon Sugar collection is that it's yummy, yummy, yummy. I love the body butter which just melts into the skin and has a nice light scent. The products range from $6.00 to $12.00. I use the glow xpert face shimmers on the face and body. A little goes a long way and the glow is long lasting. They retail for $8.00. mark. has alot of products, but these are my faves and the products that work for me.

Gold Digger

I just realized that I'm a collector of gold. I never really noticed, but I was poking through my makeup and found alot of golden-hued makeup. I guess the reason I love gold soo much is because it compliments my skin tone perfectly and I can always find a way to wear it all year long. For some people, gold's obnoxious and gaudy, but me loves it.
